I'm an american citizen, my fiancee is a canadian citizen. We plan to get married in the US, but do we need a fiancee visa to do so? I live in Canada with him, so its not an issue of trying to get his US citizenship which is what I thought the fiancee visa is for.Do we need a special permit to get married in the US?
fly to nevada a get married. passport will suffice to obtain a marriage license and you are legally married as well as canada or the u.s is concerned.Do we need a special permit to get married in the US?
call the local court where you plan to get married and explain your situation and ask what you need to do to apply for a marriage license, as long your a citizen there shouldn't be any problems, you will need proper identification to apply so be sure to ask what you will need to brink with you when you go to apply for a marriage license.
Only to live here, afterwards.
Best wishes!
Actually, the person above is right if you mean a marriage liscense. Everyone needs that to get married here, not just foreigners. Different states have different rules on how to get one, blood tests and whether there is a waiting period. Nevada is known for leniency in this regard, but some other states are too.
You need a marriage license.
yes, it's called a marriage license. we all get them.
talk to your local gov't
i mean really are you so in love with this man that you will not even do your own research.
